JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Skilled Trades Recruiter.
Reporting to the Manager Recruitment, you are responsible for hiring new team members across the province of Ontario in Regular Full-time and temporary roles. You are focused on creating unique hiring strategies for each role, developing interest in the external market, and partnering with the hiring manager by leading them through the Recruitment and Onboarding process resulting in a new hire for that department. The Skilled Trades Recruiter ensures processes and governance are followed while helping OPG hire new employees.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist in defining client requirements, roles and responsibilities and ensure service delivery, timelines, and effective candidate evaluation.
- Candidate evaluations including; resume screening, phone screening, interviewing, testing and selection recommendations.
- Negotiate and prepare job offers.
- Support various Diversity and Employment Equity initiatives.
- Assist with campus recruitment including on and off campus activities, out-reach, delivery of information sessions and virtual events.
- Help to drive changes to improve the recruitment process.
- Participate in appropriate networks and forums to maintain knowledge of leading practices in recruitment, contractor and talent attraction management
EDUCATION
- 4-year University Degree
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking an experienced Recruitment professional with the following:
- 4+ years of experience in a corporate recruiting or agency environment;
- Recruitment experience in skilled trades roles is an asset;
- Experience with SuccessFactors is an asset;
- Diversity or Employment Equity recruitment experience;
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple priorities;
- Strong recruitment advisory capabilities;
- Experience with a variety of social media tools and sourcing strategies;
- Strong interest in technology and knowledge of current technology trends in the Nuclear and Hydroelectric industries.
