Summary

This role is responsible for managing air, water, and waste regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will serve as the Generating Station's on-site environmental lead, supporting safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible plant operations.

What You'll Do

Ensure ongoing compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including air quality, water discharge, and waste management requirements.
Monitor and manage air emissions, including CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems), and support permit reporting for Pinal County and ADEQ.
Oversee waste, water, stormwater management, and NPDES permitting compliance, including regular inspections and sampling.
Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams in accordance with applicable standards, ensuring proper documentation and disposal.
Prepare and submit timely and accurate environmental reports to regulatory agencies, including Title V reporting.
Lead internal environmental audits and support third-party or agency inspections.
Develop and maintain environmental compliance programs, including training for plant staff on best practices and regulatory updates.
Act as the primary environmental liaison for several SRP Generating Stations, coordinating with regulatory agencies.
Participate in incident investigations and support root cause analysis for environmental events or permit deviations.
Track and interpret regulatory changes and assess impacts on plant operations, recommending necessary actions or changes.
Support plant operations and maintenance teams with environmental permitting for equipment changes or upgrades.
Maintain environmental records and data systems to ensure compliance and readiness for audits or inspections.
Promote environmental stewardship and continuous improvement through sustainability initiatives and proactive compliance strategies.
Employee must work safely and efficiently in the performance of their job duties.
Must maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers and the public.
Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and accurately and legibly complete applicable paperwork.
May be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime.

Education

A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is required.
