Summary

The Risk Analyst under general supervision, provides analytical support for risk-related activities to assist informed, data-driven decision making. Assists with risk assessments and analytical tasks related to insurance, credit, and financial risk exposures using established methods and tools. Supports the Insurance and Credit Risk functions through data collection, validation, analysis, and routine reporting, as well as assigned tasks and projects as directed by management. Responsible for collecting, cleaning, organizing, and preparing data to support risk analysis activities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Finance
  • And 2 (two) years' related professional level experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been acquired.
  • Requires strong analytic and problem solving skills and, above all, an attention to detail.
  • Current experience in utility operations preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills including a thorough knowledge and applied use of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of VBA is a plus.

Preferred Knowledge, Skill or Qualifications:

  • Experience constructing analytical models and understanding probabilistic assessment techniques
  • Experience with analytic/statistical software such as R, @Risk, Python, etc.
  • Experience reviewing and summarizing analytical risk assessments

Major Accountabilities

1) Perform risk model development to support Risk & Insurance, Credit Risk  and/or various other groups in APS
2) Perform analytics around property and liability loss frequency and impacts, collateral exposure, cash positions, and market stresses with a detailed understanding of values at risk and tail values at risk
3) Assist with stochastic, scenario and sensitivity risk analysis.

4) Collect and organize data for benchmarking surveys and/or external analytical studies.
