Description
Purpose

Responsible for providing direction, oversight and performing mark outs as requested through the dig safe call system. Engaged in the full range of general construction and maintenance activities on transmission and distribution systems and facilities as applicable ensuring compliance and public safety, including premark work done in advance of Dig Safe review.   Perform Leak Survey duties as needed.  Performs  all related work in accordance with Company, regulatory and safety procedures.  Applies advanced knowledge of job area  obtained through  education, training  and work experience. Coach and reviews the work of lower level professionals. Problem solving often includes difficult and complex issues. Managing processes related to System Protection and works independently with limited supervision.  Ensures all activies are performed in accordance with Company's policies as well as both State and Federal Codes and Regulations 

Accountabilities

  • Performs and ensures all markout distribution system facilities as requested to ensure compliance through Dig Safe call system and other leakage survey programs.. Classify detected leaks according to industry standards.  Investigate,   assess and classify in preparation of  repair. 
  • Support and assist service technicians as it relates to gas odor complaints.  Respond to construction sites to verify facilities and infrastructure and to pinpoint leak resources .  Respond to construction sites to verify company faciliities. 
  • Operate pipe locating and gas leak detection equipment. Conduct SILS orders for  public building survey to ensure the integrity of existing infrastucture utilizing CGI/FI equipment within areas of public business districts. Conduct Leak suvey utilizing walking and mobil patrol.
  • Monitors and provides feedback to the team and to supervisors on job performance, compliance issues with operations and team objectives.
  • Completes and maintains accurate records and reports  for the  Company and regulatory requirements.  Performs bridge patrol, monitoring reads from FI equipment, documenting results and perform rechecks. scheduling follow up on rechecks.
  •  Conduct rechecks of existing leaks. Determine migration and verifying the classification of the  leak  has not changed. Meet damage prevention requirements including support of M.U.S.T. program. Read and interpret GIS System records that leads to the identication of existing infrastructure.  Ensure adherence to Company O&M standards.  Respond to internal and other external dig safe tickets. Performs activities to ensure responsiveness  to natural gas and other emergencies, incuding 24/7 on call duties.

Education and Experience

  • Broader knowledge of theory and principles within a professional discipline or advanced knowledge of specific technical/operational practices
  • College or professional program of 3 years or less
  • 5-10 years of experiences
