Position Summary
As part of our Transmission Planning team at Oncor, the Engineer will analyze Oncor's transmission system using computer simulation to determine the system's performance under both existing and expected future conditions. This role projects performance compared to Reliability Standards established by the North America Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) to ensure proper operation. If performance is unacceptable, construction projects to upgrade the system or changes in operation are developed and proposed to management for approval. This position also initiates projects to support transmission operations, to serve new Oncor and customer-owned substations and to connect new generating stations. Approved projects are monitored and supported through the design, regulatory approval from the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and construction phases.
The Asset Planning team provides the cost-effective engineering solutions needed for upgrading, expanding, repairing, maintaining and reliably operating the power system assets safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
We are considering applicants with multiple experience levels and skills. Please see below for minimum requirements for each level below.
