What you'll do:
- Perform safe and efficient operation of equipment and tools necessary to perform maintenance on electrical equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and structures in and around the power plant including but is not limited to steam generators, turbine generators, electrical generators, compressors, pumps, fans, vehicles, tractors, all coal handing equipment, valves, and piping.
- Perform machining, rigging, welding, piping, lubricating, insulating, painting, cleaning and any other work to assure proper operation and appearance of equipment, structures, and grounds.
- Possess knowledge of machine shop equipment as well as precision instruments.
- Required to read and interpret prints, sketches, and technical manuals.
- Required to work from heights.
What you'll need:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of five years' experience in heavy industrial mechanical repair with two of those years' performing machinist duties.
- Obtain a passing result from the applicable pre-employment test(s) including successfully completing the established AECI machining test(s) pre and post hire.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Demonstrate a strong mechanical ability and willingness to learn all components of the entire power plant.
