Senior Executive Communications Consultant

APS is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Executive Communications Consultant to lead our executive communications program. In this role, you'll work closely with the Office of the CEO, communications departments, public affairs, and executives across the company to build, leverage and protect the reputation and influence of our executive team with both internal and external stakeholders. This role focuses on pairing authentic, credible voices with company objectives and strategies to align our enterprise leadership team and further our purpose to do what is right for the people and prosperity of Arizona.
What your day might look like:
- Providing strategic counsel to executives, helping them articulate their vision, clarify their ideas and proactively shape company and industry conversations
- Crafting clear, compelling and consistent messages for senior leadership to deliver across various platforms and channels
- Managing content, production and execution for town hall meetings and strategic leadership forums - both virtual and in person
- Identifying strategic opportunities and optimal channels to amplify messages, build leadership profiles and support company objectives
- Working cross-functionally to understand nuance across the business and ensure activities complement other corporate communications efforts

Minimum Requirements
Senior Executive Communications Consultant
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, English or related field
- PLUS eight (8) years related communications experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications
- Experience supporting executive leadership and leading strategic projects and project teams.
- Ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality.
- Ability to develop strategic communication plans.
- Strong software application skills including word processing and desktop publishing.
- Excellent project management skills.
Major Accountabilities
1) Serves in an informal leadership role, providing guidance and counsel to other members of the Communications team.
2) Consults with internal and/or external clients and proactively develops communications strategy and projects; develops project timelines and action plans to ensure project goals are met in a timely and quality manner.
3) Works with internal and/or external clients and executives to measure satisfaction with department work, whether through formal surveys or informal discussions. Provides feedback to team members to ensure continued improvement
4) Develops strong collaboration across all Communication departments to ensure alignment and consistency. Often represents entire department on key strategic projects and serves as lead on some cross-department projects.
5) Based on specific functional areas, develops, writes, evaluates and updates internal and/or external content and information for communications channels BU leaders and/or officers.
6) Develops processes and procedures to effectively track progress of all projects; produces weekly project status reports for department leaders.
