Key Responsibilities:
Specialization Typically specializes in one area below (prerequisite, dispatch or planning/coordination).
Prerequisite
Decides which right of way and permitting is required for each job. Submits appropriate requests for permits and rights of way.
Ensures notifications meet regulatory and policy requirements.
Determines optimal timing for prerequisite activities for each job.
Researches issues and determines which to escalate.
May do field visits to review work performed and determine whether it matches permitting requirements; may work with customers and other departments to resolve related issues.
Dispatch
Reviews and prioritizes work orders.
Plans, schedules and dispatches PGE and contract crews.
Monitors job progress and identifies and resolves issues. Schedules special equipment and ensures crews have what is needed to complete work orders. Identifies potential issues and determines what to escalate.
Planning/Scheduling
Monitors system queues and works with stakeholders to develop one- to two-week schedules for a given area.
Predicts resourcing needs based on current and upcoming workload.
Prioritizes workload for area of control and determines best time to schedule unique as well as recurring activities.
Monitors work order progress against the schedule and decides what requires escalation.
Schedules shorter-cycle work with no to low complexity prerequisite and/or equipment requirements.
Outages
Responds to outages.
Depending on area of specialization, may dispatch outage-related work orders, request permits or rights of way or plan and schedule work.
Compliance
Ensures all work activities comply with regulatory and policy requirements.
Provides data and information for required compliance reviews.
Reporting Responds to data requests.
Determines best way for obtaining and synthesizing data from multiple sources.
Develops and runs reports.
Process Documents new processes and updates existing processes.
Consultation/Leadership
Responds to questions related to day-to-day work.
Education/Experience/Certifications
Education: Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, finance or other related field or equivalent experience.
Experience: Typically one year of experience in utility distribution operations.
