Talen Energy is seeking a motivated IT Business Analyst Intern to play an important role in bridging the gap between our business and IT functions within Talen's IT organization. Positioned within the Business Relations vertical, this role is central to ensuring that IT projects align with the strategic objectives of our publicly traded energy organization. The IT Business Analyst Intern will help analyze the company's technology and IT systems to identify problems, opportunities, and potential solutions to improve operations and achieve business goals.
What will you own?
- Partner with IT applications management, project management, and business analyst roles to bring excellent solutions to solve business problems

Participate in business process design and discovery sessions

Document business processes and requirements

Provide business analyst support to projects in progress

Assist with project management functions on active projects at the direction of the project manager

Perform assigned duties in a professional manner to facilitate the objectives and goals of the Company and to enhance the direction of the IT Business Relations team

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (customizable based on role)

Ability to collaborate with employees and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner

Ability to prepare and give presentations, facilitate meetings, manage aspects of large-scale projects
Basic Qualifications

Currently enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university

Must be a rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related discipline

Enrolled full-time with a minimum of 12 semester hours

Maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Eligible to work in the U.S. in accordance with BCIS guidelines

Able to provide an official student transcript and any other required documentation

Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with others

Demonstrated leadership potential through academic, extracurricular, or community involvement

Internship eligibility ends upon graduation from the academic program
