Job Description

Position Summary
The associate natural gas scheduling analyst will work closely with our traders to ensure accurate receipt and delivery of natural gas from our upstream suppliers to our customers' local utilities. A successful candidate will have exceptional critical thinking skills, strong attention to detail, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with everchanging demands and obstacles.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Accurately nominate daily natural gas sales and purchases on interstate pipelines and local distribution companies (LDC's) Electronic Bulletin Boards (EBB's).
Monitor pipeline and LDC's for any cuts during all gas cycles and immediately work with impacted counterparts to rectify the issues.
Proactively track pipeline restrictions and/or maintenance schedules that could impact gas flows. Report any potential issues to traders and senior scheduling staff.
Develop and maintain positive business relationships with WGL Energy pipeline, LDC, and supplier representatives and schedulers.
Monitor daily customer usage and adjust nominations to maintain banking requirements and to remain within any Operational Orders issued by the pipeline or LDC.
Work with Business Development Managers (BDMs) and LDC's to resolve any usage, meter or phone line issues
Enter scheduled volumes into WGL Energy's ETRM System on a weekly basis.
Perform the monthly close out of pipelines and utilities by reconciling volumes reported by utilities and pipelines with the WGL Energy internal tracking sheets.
Enter and/or validate Large Commercial Gas Contracts in the WGL Energy Oracle Database System and work with Contract Administration and BDMs to resolve any contract issues.
Enter pipeline and LDC invoice payments into WGL Energy invoicing software.
Comply with WGL Energy Energy Risk Management Policy and Risk Control Procedures Manual.
Participate in weekend and holiday coverage on-call rotation.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's Degree Business, Economics, Supply/Chain or other related field required
0-2 Years analytical and/or supply chain role required

Working knowledge of energy industry, specifically deregulated natural gas markets
Previous experience and working knowledge of advanced formula in MS Excel (knowledge of macros and Visual Basic would be an asset.)
Analytical skills with the ability to critically think is required.
Self-starter, results-oriented with proven previous success at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks of varying complexity, as well as meeting tight deadlines.
Effective written and spoken communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
Willing to live in the Washington DC metro area and report to office headquarters in Vienna, VA.
