Position Summary

The Manager Infrastructure Special Projects is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and operational support of the organization's hybrid IT infrastructure, encompassing both cloud and on-premises environments. This role ensures the optimal performance, security, and scalability of infrastructure services, while aligning with the company's strategic goals and technology roadmap.

The Manager will oversee a team of skilled engineers and administrators, driving the successful deployment and maintenance of cloud-based solutions, as well as the ongoing management of legacy on-premises systems. With a deep understanding of cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure Cloud Platform, combined with proficiency in traditional data center operations, the Manager will play a critical role in modernizing the company's IT landscape.

Key responsibilities include developing cloud migration strategies, managing infrastructure lifecycle processes, implementing security and compliance standards, and driving continuous improvements through automation and innovation. The Manager Infrastructure Special Projects will work closely with cross-functional teams, including application development, security, and operations, to deliver resilient and efficient infrastructure solutions that support business needs.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Schedule and facilitate patch management meetings.
  • Facilitate coordination with SME's of Bulk Electric Systems (BES) Cyber Systems and associated Cyber Assets to determine if there are any updates or patches that need to be applied.
  • Establish KPI's and SLA's.
  • Ensure all tickets (incidents, service requests, change requests) for the patching team are meeting proper SLA's and workflow.
  • Ensure patch management activities are tracked and approved within the configuration management and change control process.
  • Manage and apply correct resources to Internal Audit liaison - monitor action items, track Request for Information workstreams, working with the proper business units based on the need of the request.
  • Provide resources to assist with special reports and projects.
  • Resolve or escalate issues, assisting business areas with gap analysis.
  • Plans, performs, and manages implementation plans for process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure patch management processes are documented accurately and actions taken are compliant with CPSE policies.
  • Manage the tracking of mitigations to ensure security releases are implemented timely, or the mitigation plan is extended or updated in accordance with company policies and processes.

Minimum Skills

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience in a security role in support of a highly technical, complex environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with engagement of and partnering with enterprise security stakeholders.
  • Familiarity generating automated metrics to measure service, program effectiveness and consistency.
  • Knowledge of operationalizing security requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure and operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) regulatory environment. 
  • IT auditing and/or security background 
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor or Manager (CISA/CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other security certification(s). 
  • Cyber vulnerability management experience
