SummaryThe Operational Technology (OT) Planning Senior Manager will be responsible for the planning, development, maintenance, architecture, governance, and execution of the OTS division budget/resource plan, the OT Strategy & Governance program and OT strategic initiatives in collaboration with operating businesses (Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Supply & Trading), Operational Technology (OT) teams (including OT applications, OT infrastructure, metering, telecom, and protection automation and control), corporate Information Technology Services (ITS) teams and Cyber Security Services (CSS).
The Senior Manager of OT Planning will manage the annual OT strategy and roadmap development and governance process, while setting a strategic vision for OT in collaboration with Power System business units and corporate service providers. This role will translate the high-level strategy into a structured set of priorities which will be operationalized into measurable objectives with an implementation timeline set by the OT business units. They will also be responsible for alignment of the OT strategy with corporate strategy and the integration and collaboration with enterprise technology strategy. To ensure key performance goals are achieved, the OT Planning Senior Manager will be responsible for tracking progress and completion of the objectives in agreed-upon timeframes. They will collect input from all relevant stakeholders in OT and balance demands from teams with existing resources and overarching SRP objectives, values and mission.
The OT Planning department will oversee the development and implementation of strategic initiatives defined within the OT Strategy & Services division. Initially, these initiatives will include service management, technology resilience and workforce development.
The OT Planning department will also provide architectural leadership and governance. They will guide alignment of solution architecture and engineering to adhere to enterprise architecture process, train towards enacting best practices, and establish, then govern OT standards and policies.
What You'll Do
- Build stakeholder consensus by driving critical discussions with diverse stakeholders, and effectively handle varying viewpoints. Utilize superior decision-making and coordination skills in ambiguous situations. Act as a trusted advisor, influencing stakeholders to act on product and technology matters.
- Develop and deploy Operational Technology Strategy frameworks and methodologies across OT, leveraging macro and micro trends to inform leaders and technology strategy, and lead the development and maintenance of the annual OT Strategy & Governance plan, in coordination with, and across a broad set of stakeholders.
- Facilitate OT governance with alignment and integration with the Enterprise Technology governance process.
- Responsible for developing and managing the OTS division budget and resource plans, including providing support for contracting services and management of software licenses and vendor support contracts.
- Develop, monitor, and deliver the Operational Technology Planning & Program Roadmap, including overall OT Strategy & Governance program initiatives in collaboration with Power System, Information Technology Services, and Cyber Security Services.
- Translate overall strategy into operational technology domain priorities. Leverage emerging trends and business leaders to identify relevant projects/programs. Develop technology prioritization criteria based on overall strategy and in coordination with Power System, Information Technology Services, and Cyber Security Services; build consensus amongst stakeholders, prioritize needs, and develop overall roadmap.
- Develop, prioritize, and coordinate the creation and update of the OT roadmap and execution of the project portfolio, ensuring adherence to the OT Strategy. Maintain accountability for project timelines and ensure effective communication of program status updates.
- Develop and manage the execution of key strategic OT initiatives defined in the OT Strategy. Initially, this includes service management, technology resilience and workforce development.
- Understand competitive operational technology landscapes and technology stacks in power networks, e.g., Generation, Transmission, and Distribution. Knowledge of power networks, technology impacts across cross-functional teams, with ability to manage complex technology solutions and related impacts across cross-functional teams.

- Deep expertise in technology strategy, project and program development; operational technology in power networks / utilities preferred.

Experience
Minimum of 8 years cumulative and progressive professional experience
- 7+ years of experience in a leadership role in technology strategy, technology governance, enterprise architecture or a related field, e.g., organizational or technology strategy for power utility or industrials company with operational technology needs.
- 5+ years of experience developing and delivering technology roadmaps for large-scale transformational technology projects, engaging a variety of stakeholders.
Education
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
