Summary

The Senior Manager - Technology Enablement Electrical Operations (Electrical Operations) will lead and be accountable for Technology Strategy, Budget Planning, Design, Development, Delivery, and ongoing Operations for the organization. The Electrical Operations Senior Manager ensures that intake, strategic prioritization, development, maintenance, process improvements and transformation is aligned with Oncor's Strategy, Objectives and Senior Level Stakeholders. More specifically, this role is responsible for teams, development and production support of technologies which enable the workforce across Transmission and Distribution primary functions including Planning, Asset Management, Engineering, Construction and Operations.

Key Roles & Responsibilities 

Directly or through others, the incumbent:

  • Consults with application portfolio and stakeholders to assess and anticipate current and future technology solution requirements and develops a long-term strategy and action plan
  • Lead large delivery teams of application build and solution operations expertise 
  • Lead and manage the intake and planning processes of the portfolio demand including strategic prioritization and incubation of conceptual design and solution definition
  • Lead and manages a significant multi-million budget and makes informed and dynamic investment prioritization decisions
  • Lead the strategy for new development in anticipation of and response to Oncor's objectives and needs
  • Lead and manage stakeholder communications during planning, delivery and system outages
  • Works with stakeholders to continually optimize the governance and decision-making processes across the portfolios
  • Lead and develop key metrics that drive expected delivery outcomes
  • Builds, implements and participates in the strategy to attract essential technology talent
  • Lead and collaborates with partners from all areas to facilitate demand management conversations in coordination with other Technology organizations
  • Defines delivery program financial models based on an understanding of benchmarks in the industry
  • Coordinates with appropriate architects to align the portfolio with enterprise guidelines
  • Oversees technology operations and guides continuous improvement efforts to support  desired outcomes
  • Defines, tracks, and communicates technology specific KPIs to improve the portfolio adoption and performance
  • Leads efforts to increase cross-functional team knowledge of Oncor's Electrical Operations enablement technologies and processes
  • Collaborates effectively with others to avoid duplication, identify interdependencies and make risk based decision
  • Lead and manage vendor relationships related to the portfolio and aligns vendor products and services with enterprise strategy and objectives
  • Implements industry standards and development methodologies, including Agile Delivery to enhance delivery practices
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Acts as the point of contact for the portfolio and works closely with other managers as required
  • Collaborates effectively with partners from all areas to sustain transformation and growth and drive to shared goals, wherever feasible
  • Recommends and implements process changes that drive shared results
  • Applies expertise in design thinking and data science to ensure customer-centric experiences
  • Identifies and evangelizes trends that can improve the portfolio outcomes
  • Contributes to embedding digital opportunities in the portfolio strategy

Education, Experience, & Skills

Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required; Business or Technical Degree is preferred

  • Experience: At least ten years of professional experience, with at least five years of experience working directly with senior business leaders. Strong business acumen; understands the key financial drivers and dynamics related to growth and an organization's revenue goals. Experience in technology delivery or program management is required. Experience in managing resources both employee and contract is required. Experience in deregulated electric market is preferred.
