Job Summary
The Manager, Corporate Consolidation is responsible for managing the corporate planning process across Vistra and maintaining the companywide financial model. Leads coordination of all assumptions and forecasts from business units and corporate shared services, as well as, provides expert advice and consultation across the Planning group on GAAP and non-GAAP application. Excellent and reliable accounting acumen with ability to build financial statements (GAAP and non-GAAP Vistra equivalent), interpret new regulation impacts, track liquidity, and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles throughout the consolidation process. Actively participates in routine variance analysis of actuals vs. plan, ad-hoc scenario analysis, and the assimilation of business changes into forecasting and reporting processes such as acquisitions and accounting principal changes.Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Execution and continuous improvement of companywide financial planning process to develop five-year financial plan and related forecasts of key business drivers, liquidity, debt and other financial statement metrics
Ownership and continuous improvement of the Corporate Planning Model and consolidation of assumptions and actuals from formal planning tools (SAC and Planful) and other business templates / tools
Responsible of maintenance and verification of accounting principles used throughout the Corporate Planning Model
Maintains communication with business unit planning groups, controller's organization, business development, and strategy to keep abreast of business changes, identify issues relevant to the planning and forecasting process and assist in identifying and executing required modifications to planning and reporting models and processes
Coordinates with Tax and Treasury teams in providing input requirements and incorporating projections into forecast model(s)
Responsible for output / presentation development of ongoing five-year financial plan and commentary of variance analysis
Responsible for monthly actuals vs. plan analysis of the cash flow statement and consolidation of monthly financial operations report
Participates in ad-hoc, focused projects and lead scenario analysis to the financial plan on a variety of initiatives that cross multiple business units and functional groups, including business development activities (e.g., mergers, acquisitions, alliances, and divestitures)
Education, Experience & Skill Requirements
Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification preferred
7+ years of relevant business experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting or treasury position with advanced experience with complex consolidations and cash flow statement preparation and analysis
Experience in the competitive energy industry (power, natural gas), other deregulated markets, or traditional utility with competitive subsidiaries preferred
Experience with a planning tool, preferably SAC and Planful
Strong working application knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, including building a narrative around a variance analysis with consolidated and thoughtful commentary
Self-motivated and goal-oriented with ability to initiate action and follow through on tasks, as well as balance multiple priorities and work effectively across multiple organization levels and business group cultures
Demonstrated strong modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with emphasis on issue identification, variance analysis, and deficiency minimization
