Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with a variety of Superior Water Light & Power Regulatory and Accounting staff members to complete projects relevant to the day-to-day operations of the organization
- · Potential projects may include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze and interpret cost records
- Participate in the calculation of new or updated rate offerings
- Aides in completing regulatory and rate applications and reports
- Assists with the monthly accounting close process, journal entries, reconciliations, and other tasks
- Learn and apply knowledge of compliance and records across multiple utilities
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with an expected graduation date between June 2026 and June 2027
- Preferred majors include: Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics
- Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite Skills (i.e. Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with a variety of people in changing situations
- Ability to work on multiple projects
- Candidates may be subject to assessment of skills, job match, or aptitude
DETAILS & DURATION OF INTERNSHIP:
- This internship will report in person to Superior, WI
- This internship will be from June 2025 - May 2026. The expected hours are full time during the summer and part time during academic terms up until graduation.
- ALLETE will comply with college requirements.
