Summary

Under limited supervision practices as a professional behavioral health clinician for SRP corporate Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Addresses all types of behavioral health problems including chemical dependency. Provides crisis intervention, evaluation and appropriate referral to the SRP EAP vendor, and treatment facilities. Researches, develops, and presents behavioral health education and training programs. Interacts with employees on all levels.

This role is 100% on-site in Tempe Monday-Friday and requires occasional travel via car or plane to rural SRP Generating Stations. This position will not offer an Alternative Work Week (AWW).

What You'll Do

  • Conducts assessments, referrals and brief, problem-solving counseling/consulting for all areas of behavioral health. 
  • Acts as case manager for last chance program. 
  • Researches, plans, organizes and presents behavioral health training and EDU programs company-wide. 
  • Performs crisis intervention, evaluation and appropriate referral for employees in emergency situations. 
  • Assists with formulating individual treatment plans and follow-up support therapy with external EAP and treatment centers in the community. 
  • Documents pertinent case info and statistics for input into confidential computer program. 
  • Helps advise, assist and support management in constructively dealing with behavioral health problems in their areas. 
  • Participates in quality assurance activities with HR reps and other HRS staff members serving SRP employees. 
  • Responsible for keeping patient intake information and records up to date. 
  • Works flexible hours and carries out other work assignments as requested. 
  • Participates in last change agreement process. 
  • Advises benefits department on EAP vendor issues/services. 
  • Provides behavioral health consultation to the SRP Threat Management Team. 
  • Participates on the SRP Business Continuity Plan, including providing Trauma Response and other Critical Incident Response.

What It Takes To Succeed

  • Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Licensure. 
  • Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) DOT qualification preferred.
  • Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP).
  • Must have knowledge and experience working with all types of behavioral health problems. 
  • Must have an academic and working knowledge of chemical dependency -- symptoms of use and abuse, disease process, withdrawal and recovery.
  • Must be able to establish rapport and professional credibility with employees on all levels. 
  • Must be comfortable talking to groups and presenting education and training programs. 
  • Must have a history of work performance where professional value system and work ethics are without question. 
  • Must possess enough self-assurance and behavioral health judgment to work independently.
  • Must have ability to work as a team member, supporting company policies, management and HR/Health Services colleagues. 
  • Must be able to establish good working relationships in the community for referral resources. 
  • Confidentiality strictly maintained in accordance with Arizona State Statutes. 

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience providing EAP or behavioral health counseling and consulting.
  • Five years experience providing chemical dependency assessment and/or treatment preferred.

Education

Completion of a Master's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
