**This position is hybrid and located in Houston, TX (Greater Houston Area)

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst is a key player in enhancing Just Energy's strategic and operational capabilities. Collaborating within a service group, they serve as a versatile resource supporting all functional areas of the company. This dynamic role offers exposure to diverse facets of Just Energy's operations, fostering a well-rounded experience primed for various growth opportunities within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess robust analytical prowess, initiative, adeptness in system utilization with a focus on automation, and strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with business partners. Responsibilities entail spearheading or contributing to projects such as technology upgrades, system migrations, and initiatives aimed at enhancing business processes. Interdepartmentally, the position interfaces with Sales, Pricing, Regulatory, Legal, Customer Service, and Operations teams, ensuring seamless coordination and successful task execution. Given its prominent visibility throughout the organization, this role demands a proactive leader adept at thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  •          Foster a culture of continuous improvement by collaborating with cross-functional teams to support various initiatives including new product launches, sales initiatives, IT process automations and operational efficiencies.
  •          Monitor, identify, and analyze system issues within Operations responsibilities, ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption.
  •          Present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences, including executive management, in a clear and concise manner.
  •          Liaise with other Production Support Team members to resolve support calls, and address emergency situations as they arise.
  •          Ability to multi-task, prioritize, resolve, and escalate issues as needed.
  •          Develop comprehensive business requirement documents and process flows, obtaining stakeholder approval.
  •          Lead the development of detailed approaches to solve complex projects from planning to completion, managing dependencies and addressing unexpected situations.
  •          Conduct user acceptance testing, implementation, and post-implementation monitoring activities.
  •          Perform ad-hoc reporting, research, and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  •          Design process documentation and collaborate to ensure smooth transition of new processes to core functional teams' post-release.
  •          Support incident response tasks and services restoration, including the application of system patches and security updates to maintain optimal system performance, availability, and security.
  •          Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  •          Self-starter with the ability to independently strategize and execute projects with minimal direction.
  •          Proven track record of disciplined execution, consistently delivering results on time and within budget.
  •          Exceptional attention to detail and quick problem-solving abilities while adhering to tight deadlines.
  •          Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex issues to various levels within the organization.
  •          Advanced interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and discuss difficult issues.
  •          Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage tasks and coordinate production support activities effectively.
  •          Experience managing projects independently. 

Years of Experience:

  •          2-4 years of experience in a business analysis or change management role
  •          Some experience of retail gas and/or electric industry experience is preferred.

Education:

  •         Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
  •         PMP certification is a plus

Technology Requirements:

  •          Intermediate to advanced SQL
  •          Advanced in MS Office (Word, Lucid, PowerPoint, Excel etc.)
  •          Billing systems exposure preferred
