This position will be responsible for project managing a suite of continuous improvement projects, applications, and data visualization dashboards as well as providing support for the strategy and development of these initiatives.  The ideal candidate will have: attention to detail with strong project management and analytical skills, along with being a team-oriented relationship builder.  Direct experience with SharePoint, Power Apps and Power BI is a plus.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for the development, analysis, communication, and reporting for energy programs and program data and departmental priorities for Energy Services & Programs (ES&P) products, programs and technologies. Responsible for development and implementation of plans, contracts and procedures for the research, evaluation and communication of ES&P/CES products, programs, and technologies to ensure accuracy as well as internal and external alignment. Routinely supports communication/negotiations with TVA-wide representatives from External Relations, Financial Services, Operations, and externally with local power companies (LPCs), directly served customers, TVPPA, TVIC, stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to gain support and understanding of CES offerings and direction. Prudently exercises budget authority and routinely manages larger, more complex, and enterprise-wide level projects.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

Supervisory Responsibility  Provides technical supervision of department intern(s) and Financial Services Associates; leads matrixed teams of internal SMEs and external partners, customers, and providers.

Budget Responsibility    $5 million

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Provide ES&P/CES programs such as contract administration, customer engagement, and other functions as requested.
  2. Analyze ES&P/CES portfolio and service performance data to determine program impacts and select appropriate data to construct value model for TVA, local power companies and end users.  Perform ad hoc assessments as requested.
  3. Design and develop assessment tools and services which assist in evaluating, benchmarking, and data visualization of ES&P/CES programs consistent with national utility standards; determine validity of inputs and establish reporting requirements.
  4. Based upon industry standards and TVA reference guidelines, establish impact estimates, incentives, and communication plans to support ES&P/CES programs as a supply side resource for TVA.
  5. Exercise budget authority and manage specific data acquisition and program analytics including data visualization.
  6. Design, develop, and utilize models and other tools to provide ongoing feedback on the performance of ES&P/CES programs; determine actions to correct deficiencies and improve performance.
  7. Articulate TVA/CES perspective on multifunctional teams by developing communications materials in planning and analyzing data.
  8. Manage vendor contracts to provide energy program services.
  9. Serve as a primary point of contact with TVA organizations, LPCs, DSIs, and third-party vendors to design and coordinate research needs and surveys and impact assessments, and creation of communication materials.
  10. Concisely communicate research and analysis results.
  11. Identify, develop, and implement analytical tools, technology solutions and techniques to assess ES&P/CES programs and better align performance estimates to industry standard practices and internal TVA methodologies.  Ensure results are clearly communicated to appropriate audiences.
  12. Coordinate program design and development in new ES&P/CES program offerings.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education  Bachelor's degree in engineering, data analytics, mathematics, business, economics, marketing, or related technical discipline, or equivalent education and experience.  An advanced degree may be desired.  

Experience  Two or more years of experience with some experience in research, tracking and reporting, or program design and evaluation. Demonstrated skills in problem solving, technical acumen, and communication.

Certification/License, etc 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities  Must have thorough technical knowledge of the electric utility industry, TVA, DER technologies and their applications; knowledge of power system operations is necessary; ability to conduct financial and statistical analyses. Familiarity with research software or analytical software. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
