Serves as Strategic Energy Management's Tier 1 Strategic Energy Manager providing qualitative preparation, negotiation and execution of major energy, pricing, renewable energy, sustainability, and carbon initiatives. Provides critical analysis and program content for executive industry discussions between SRP's largest strategic commercial and industrial customers and SRP's Senior Executive Management. Leads and develops evolving national customer strategies specifically under Tier I Manager guidance. Requires comprehensive baseline understanding of SRP's corporate direction involving Strategic Planning, Resource Planning, Corporate Pricing, Economic Development, Sustainability, Supply & Trading, Product Development, Government Relations, Strategic System Projects, Transmission Planning, Engineering and Water Resources. Ability to comfortably engage and clearly communicate with national, customer corporate energy teams and industry consultants bridging alignment of advanced energy concepts developed by SRP decision makers. Perform special projects as guided by the Tier I Manager, including various opportunities to lead required initiatives with key SRP Commercial customers. Project examples include Sustainable Energy Offering (SEO), Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Renewable Energy Credits (REC), Pricing, Interruptible programs, Cost Allocation review, Integrated System Planning (ISP), Full Electric Service Riders (FESR) and various Pilot programs.
What You'll Do
- Serve as single point of contact with assigned strategic customers.
- Represent Strategic Energy Management in negotiations, preparation, communication and execution of major initiatives including: renewable energy, sustainability, and customized Full Electric Service Rider agreements and economic development rate agreements.
- Represent SRP in and initiate executive discussions with SRP's Tier I strategic commercial and industrial customers.
- Provide strategic customer interpretation and guidance to SRP's Senior Executive Management about complex energy and sustainability initiatives. This important engagement serves SRP's Senior Leadership in creating aligned future initiatives with SRP's most critical strategic customers.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on behalf of SRP's Senior Executive Management to major SRP customers and industry consultants.
- Analyze Tier I customer operations for opportunities to market SRP's current products and services using energy management analyses and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities.
- Evaluate and recommend end-use technologies and materials related to customer's energy use and facility operation. Coordinate and perform price plan comparisons plus significant load and cost of operation evaluation for customers.
- Analyze assigned market segment for trends that pose opportunities for or threats to the customers' businesses as well as SRP's goals.
- Leadership of internal and external stakeholder teams to arrive at solutions producing hard dollar savings in compliance with growing Carbon offset regulations.
- Establish track record of engaging with CEOs, CFOs and Corporate Energy Executives of national Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 firms.
- Host assigned customers.
- Provide/ensure 24-hour, 7-day access as a single point of contact to SRP.
- Participate in complementary trade groups and business associations in partnership with customers.
- Closely engage and work with SRP's Economic Development, Grid Integration, Resource Planning, Water Supply, Strategy & Corporate Services, Metering, Substation Design, Government Relations, Corporate Pricing, and others.
- Effectively communicate to customers SRP's Rules & Regulations, Price Plans, Corporate Objectives.
- Travel when necessary.
What It Takes To Succeed
Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.
Education
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
Additional Information
Must acquire Certified Energy Manager certification in one year after hire.
