PSE's Vice President of Operations team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Power Dispatcher I position!

Job Summary
Safety is the number one priority for Puget Sound Energy. This position requires participation in safety meetings, identification and reporting of safety incidents and unsafe conditions, obtaining and maintaining required licenses and certifications and participation in emergency response drills.
Perform interchange scheduling and balancing area accounting functions during 24x7 hour real-time operations.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform all Non-Reliabiltiy & Reliability Related Tasks assigned to the PD I - Interchange position
- Perform PD I duties as described within applicable PSE and Load Office procedures and practices
- Must be knowledgeable in and comply with all Company standards, policies, practices and procedures, FERC, NERC, WECC, and NAESB standards, as well as State and Federal safety regulations as they pertain to the job. Evaluate and process transmission capacity requests
- Create and/or process requests for interchange (E-Tags)
- Monitor available transmission capacity and curtailments on all PSEI commercial paths
- Adjust transmission line limits (TTC)
- Verify transactions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness
- Coordinate after-the-fact corrections and accounting updates with adjacent BA's and WECC.
- Research and resolves scheduling discrepancies with other balancing areas and entities.
- Help to develop and maintain consistent and auditable documentation, processes and procedures
- Provides on-the-job training and mentorship to peers and trainees.
- Participate in staff and Load Office meetings
Minimum Qualifications
- Applicant should possess an associate's degree or up to two (2) years of college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Applicant must possess PER-002 certification per NERC Standards, or possess the ability to attain one within one (1) year.
- Applicant must have the ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form any issues, needs and questions with Company personnel, Service Providers, Contractors, and the public.
- Ability to work within a small group while creating and sustaining a positive and proactive environment.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Must have the ability and willingness to learn advanced computer skills and complex control center systems.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or disciplines utilizing mathematics, analytics, or power systems.
- Knowledge of WECC, NERC and FERC standards.
- NERC operator certification.
- Previous experience in utility operations.
- Interchange scheduling experience.
- Knowledge of interconnected transmission systems.
- Must have one (1) year prior related experience with working knowledge of electrical theory, power systems and/or the utility industry.
