Summary 

Performs and directs the installation, dismantling and maintenance of electrical equipment.  Performs and directs the installation, connecting and maintenance of other electrical equipment and apparatus

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installs, connects, and removes relay control, metering, carriers, instrument circuits, and equipment on energized panels and switchboards.
  • Performs switch adjustments.
  • Works on energized equipment and circuits.
  • Takes reasonable care of Company tools and equipment that are assigned to him during working hours.
  • Keeps assigned equipment work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Reports irregularities and abnormal conditions.
  • Directs and instructs employees assigned to work with him.
  • Assists in the training of other employees.
  • Performs similar or less skilled work in this classification or when the diversity of work load requires, performs similar or less skilled work in equal or lower classifications.
  • Performs duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations and practices.
  • Completes any reports and forms used in connection with the performance of duties.

Required Qualifications for Position

Meets the Company's requirements as to general qualifications; has the qualifications of Apprentice Construction Electrician, and meets the following qualifications:

  • Three years experience as an Apprentice Construction Electrician, or the equivalent.
  • Satisfactorily completed the Apprentice Construction Electrician Progression Steps, or the equivalent.
  • Attended and satisfactorily completed the Apprentice Construction Electrician Training Courses provided by the Company.  An employee who fails any Apprentice Construction Electrician Training Course or whose field performance is not satisfactory shall be returned to the classification from which he bid or was promoted.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the use of prints.
  • Working knowledge of motors.
  • Ability to perform, instruct, direct, and advise others in the performance of all types of construction electrical work.
  • Maintains a current CDL license and physical.
  • Successful bidder must have previously attended and passed Steel Structures Climbing School
