WGL Energy - Sr. Natural Gas Scheduler

Position Summary
This position is involved in all aspects of scheduling natural gas purchases from suppliers to local gas utilities to meet the load requirements of WGL Energy Services' retail customers.
You Will:
Set up monthly and daily nominations on interstate pipelines and utilities
Analyze pipeline notices for capacity constraints and assess the impact on the flowing gas portfolio. Work closely with Portfolio Traders on strategies to optimize margins, avoid penalties, and meet changes in retail load
Implement pipeline capacity strategies to optimize capacity value and meet retail load demand
Perform retroactive nominations and readjust balances at gas utilities to support imbalance trading
Monitor firm customer usage at local gas utilities and adjust deliveries to remain within tolerances and meet Operational Flow Order requirements
Nominate, monitor and adjust gas nominations for WGL - Interruptible and Daily Requirements customers
Assist Account Managers and customers in resolving meter issues when usage data is unavailable or in error
Reconcile deal capture system gas position with Hedge Book projection on a daily basis to accurately reflect customer load changes and wholesale purchases. Correct data sources as needed to ensure accurate risk management reports. Train and monitor back up staff person to also perform these tasks.
Analyze and correct sales contract volumes as necessary in coordination with Gas Traders to achieve proper alignment of hedged portfolio.
Train new schedulers on all aspects of scheduling position
Research new gas markets and establish requirements and processes to serve new customers in new utilities.
You Have:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent natural gas industry experience required. MBA a plus.
5+ Years analytical experience
Proven skills in pipeline and utility management
Contract entry experience and problem solving abilities
Ability to maintain 100% accuracy in a dynamic fast paced environment
Experience in the natural gas energy industry required.
Experience in inventory tracking/management required
Advanced to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including a minimum of 2 years of working experience in Excel/VBA
Access, SQL, and Oracle experience a plus
