Center Point Energy is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Supply Chain Team, located in Houston, TX.
Summary:
You will have the ability to leverage your knowledge of systems, analytics tools, and mathematical/statistical expertise to develop new datasets, provide oversight to processes and systems affecting data quality, and perform exploratory analysis to discover new insights. Individuals in this position will work with or serve as business analyst to develop and implement business cases to apply the insights discovered to modify business processes and systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality of work produced. This role enables various work groups to use and trust the organization's data with the ultimate goal of realizing the data's full potential.
In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for learning and research.

Your background includes:
- Build and maintain new data models in support of the business needs.
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, and other visualizations to support exploratory analysis and business requests.
- Perform exploratory analysis to uncover valuable and quantifiable business insights through the application of analytic, machine learning, statistical, and algorithic techniques.
- Leverage expertise in business systems, processes, and data sets to serve as a champion for improved data quality and accurate data use across the organization.
- Development of formal documentation including process maps, data dictionaries, metadata, architecture diagrams.
- Assist in refining and prioritizing work request (self-created and submitted by other business units) to optimize collection and use of data to improve efficiency, improve data quality, improve customer service, and reduce costs.
- Develop test strategies for implemented efforts to optimize collection and use of data to improve efficiency, improve data quality, improve customer service, and reduce costs.
- Conveys information to occasionally divergent audiences that may require some persuasion or are not knowledgeable of the subject matter.
- Constant, self-motivated pursuit of learning systems, organizational structure, processes, data sets, techniques, etc.
- Operate with moderate supervision, guidance, and direction from leadership and senior staff.
- May provide training and guidance to less experienced professionals.
