MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Perform meter reading activities by either reading gas meters manually or utilizing Automated Meter Reading devices, performing maintenance activities, and other related duties along assigned routes. Install and maintain devices used for transmitting meter usage data from gas meters. Perform duties required to disconnect gas customers
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Should possess high school diploma or equivalent. Computer skills a plus.
Applicant must be capable of physically and mentally working on gas facilities. Must be able to learn safety rules associated with job duties and follow same.
Candidate must demonstrate that he/she is self-motivated and works well with others. The successful candidate should possess good mechanical aptitude; ability to bend, climb, crawl, stoop, lift and maintain body balance; ability to endure exposure to outside elements in all seasons; ability to work outside of their regular schedule; and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with customers and employees. Must be located within 25 driving miles of the Operating Center.
Required to have and maintain a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles.
Required to be available to work overtime.

The employee is required to exert a moderate amount of force constantly and a heavy amount of force occasionally to move objects.
While performing this job, the employee must use visual attributes including: depth perception, peripheral vision, distance vision, nearsighted vision, color recognition, size recognition, and shape recognition.
While performing this job, the employee will be required to work in indoor and outdoor environments; work in extreme cold and extreme heat; work with noise and vibration; work around hazards; work in atmospheric conditions; may be required to use a respirator; and terminal viewing is essential.
