Description
The primary purpose of the Sales Support Analyst is to support the Talen Energy commercial electricity retail business by providing support for sales/marketing and operations activity. This shall include, but not be limited to, sales and sales process support, internal sales coordination, customer relationship management, sales administration and support, market research and analysis, and other functions related to supporting transactional flow and customer communication as determined by the business unit. Primary Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the transactional set up and flow for the commercial electricity retail sales business team.
  • Support several sales resources by driving the internal sales process from account and deal set up to contract execution, including system set up in CRM, approvals from credit, legal and risk groups, price and proposal generation and customer database management.
  • Proactively manage renewal opportunities and activity pipeline for assigned sales staff.
  • Set up, track and comply with bid deadlines.
  • Coordinate creation and submission of RFP responses.
  • Prepare sales activity reports and other reports/analyses as necessary or requested by sales team.
  • Handle routine communication and maintain professional relationships with customers and channel partners for the purpose of acquiring basic bid information, responding to renewal business opportunities, securing new business, and providing general account management services and support.
  • Support development of new business opportunities by contributing to the acquisition of leads via market intelligence, channel partnerships, and energy partner relationships.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team on marketing communications, event planning, and related functions associated with customer relationship management.
  • Participate in special projects to improve operations, increase customer satisfaction and retention rates, and contribute to profitability.
  • Perform related job duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Business Administration, Marketing or related degree or at least five years of industry experience.
  • Experience in an area of marketing, business sales, or sales planning.
  • Experience in an area of direct customer contact, customer relationship management, or related policies, procedures and processes.
  • Basic understanding of the wholesale or retail energy markets as it is related to marketing and sales.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and succinctly via e-mail, on the phone or in person.
  • Team and interpersonal skills to listen to feedback, identify solutions, and drive resolution.
  • Basic analytical skills to create and interpret reports.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and shift focus quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SalesForce.
  • Direct work experience in electricity retail sales area.
  • Knowledge of the US electricity deregulated markets.
  • Strong client-service orientation, ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
