Position Summary:
Responsibilities include ensuring the availability, integrity, and reliability of assigned SCADA/FLISR screen views or system support. This position provides software application solutions, development, advice, and assistance to clients to design, develop, integrate, and maintain SCADA/FLISR systems. Conducts analysis, programming, troubleshooting, recommending solutions, and implementing fixes associated with SCADA/FLISR systems and applications. Prepares and reviews design documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline or equivalent experience or technical training.
- 3 years of Engineering, Operations, IT or other utility experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of operating systems and network topology.
- Knowledge of SCADA related NERC CIP requirements in the ODN (Operation Data Network) as well as any remediation required to meet CM (Configuration Manager).
- Ability to use MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Access is required.
- Experience working with SCADA or Automation systems preferred.
- Intermediate to moderate knowledge of one or more of the following: Electric Distribution Operations; Distribution Automation; Distribution Engineering.
- Knowledge of RTSCADA, ADMS, DERMS, DMS, advanced grid applications and Yukon Feeder Automation Software database support following Operating Standards and Procedures.
- Graphical user interface (GUI) and design skills desired
- Knowledge of computer networking and SCADA/FLISR, PGE/DNP protocols desired
- Knowledge of telecommunications systems desired
- Ability to be self-managing and to relish the challenges of problem solving.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop positive relationships with vendors and clients. Document work practices appropriately.
- Knowledge of SQL database systems.
- Experience in application support

Responsibilities:
DCC SCADA Operational Consultant and Support:
- Test, install and maintain the SCADA/FLISR control systems and services associated with DCC Operations, Distribution Automation and SCADA/FLISR Teams.
- Responsible for communication with end-users and vendors for SCADA/FLISR software enhancements and issues.
- Responsible for providing business analysis perspectives for proposed changes to SCADA/FLISR applications and associated interfaces.
- Works with real time and historical database administration
- Provide 1st and 2nd tier support in testing, analyzing, diagnosing and resolving problems associated with SCADA/FLISR systems.
- Provides support guidance, consultation to DCC personnel and end users in the development and implementation of SCADA and FLISR.
- Available to support Distribution System Operations 24 x 7 for production support of SCADA/FLISR systems.
- Work closely with operations to monitor existing equipment, real time data and control.
- Awareness of established policies and procedures to support all users of SCADA/FLISR
- Support Project work as requested
Data/Control Monitoring/Sharing and Management:
- Monitor and evaluate data and control for operations and engineering.
- Assist in analyzing, diagnosing and resolving problems associated with all SCADA/FLISR systems.
Compliance and Process Improvement:
- Assist with ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Use of best practices and benchmarks to achieve efficient and effective services.
- Applies specific best practices as appropriate continued improvement in core competencies.
- Uses industry recognized approaches, methodologies and techniques specific to competency area to deliver quality real-time control and monitoring solutions
General
- This is a "career/journey - level" SCADA position in which incumbent performs moderate to complex SCADA/FLISR assignments with low to average risk in an autonomous fashion with limited guidance.
- Resolves problems within SCADA/FLISR procedural guidelines. Seeks assistance from the supervisor or more senior employees on unusual or more difficult problems. Assignments typically require standard solutions and limited creative approaches.
- Must maintain a close working relationship with the line of business operations group.
