Accountabilities:
The Organizational Development (OD) Specialist plays a significant role in the development and implementation of organizational strategies including organizational design, employee engagement, respectful workplace, performance management, change management, and leadership development programs. As a member of the Organizational Development team, the OD Specialist contributes to continuous improvement of OD projects, programs, initiatives, and interventions by gathering/summarizing data, developing tools and resources, creating project plans, and conducting best practices research.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Organizational Development and Health, the OD Specialist will work at the corporate level in conjunction with other Human Resource team members across Emera Canadian, US and Caribbean affiliates, to identify emerging business needs and support the long-term strategic direction of the business.
The OD Specialist is responsible to:
- Ensure organizational development initiatives are aligned to the Emera strategy.
- Deliver best-in-class concepts, programs and initiatives including organization design and strategic change management to enhance organizational capability.
- Join and analyze disparate data sets and prepare briefings/recommendations to be presented at all management levels.
- Conduct needs assessment and stakeholder engagement in regard to company-wide learning and development programs.
- Benchmark programs and other best-in-class organizations.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, collaborating to create alignment on programs and services across the Emera affiliates, while seeking continuous improvement.
- Act as a resource to HR Business Partners and business leaders; provide advice, counsel, and coaching in methods and opportunities for organizational planning and development to support the achievement of strategic goals and objectives.
