POSITION OVERVIEW
The position will be responsible for the coordination and completion of projects within the Information Technology Project Management Office (PMO). Oversees all aspects of projects, which may be as early as idea conception thru support transition or implementation. This individual manages overall delivery timeliness, provides regular status updates, monitors and track expenditures, and identifies risks and issues. Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Applies project management methodology to execute projects and to ensure objectives and goals are met and resources are maximized.
- A familiarity and capability to apply multiple project methodologies; including waterfall, Agile, and SDLC.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, management, and coordination of all activities pertaining to the project, budget management, project health and status reporting, problem resolution, and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Facilitate the definition of project objectives, tasks, and resource requirements; resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas; develop methods to monitor project or area progress; and facilitate and manage corrective action if necessary.
- Creates within the team a shared focus on the importance of achieving results. Creates work standards for project; establishes and defines roles and responsibilities, specific outcomes, and clear measures for quality and success of the team. Follows through with fair and consistent consequences for both achieving and not achieving results.
- Provides realistic expectations; establishes success criteria and benefits
- Facilitates approval on all deliverables to ensure the Sponsor's objectives are met and project details are accurate and recorded.
- Conveys goals and objectives clearly and in a compelling manner; listens effectively and clarifies information as needed; interprets verbal and non-verbal messages that others communicate; communicates tactfully and candidly.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and teambuilding skills.
- Prioritizes own and team's work. Anticipates consequences of actions, potential problems, or opportunities for change. Sets and meets realistic deadlines. Forecasts changes and communicates current and projected issues.
- Advocate on behalf of project sponsor and represent team needs as appropriate to senior management. Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes
- Lead teams that cut across multiple departments or service lines.
- Creates a sense of belonging and ownership among team members; assist in the identification and assignment of a team with the right mix of skills; coaches and motivates team members; delegates responsibility; promotes mutual support and interaction.
- Motivates project team members to action. Identifies common themes, makes inferences and draws conclusions
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in the use of industry-standard project management software systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Builds coalitions among the various stakeholders; negotiates authority to move the project forward.
- Undertakes continual adjustments with stakeholders in a persuasive manner, to keep the project on course, by use of positive win/win negotiation.
- Addresses delicate situations and handles conflicts in such a way as to maximize opportunity and minimize exposure to risk.
