Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a first-year law school student interested in corporate law and corporate governance of public companies for a summer internship opportunity starting in May 2018. This is a paid internship position and will provide mentoring and practical hands-on experience. The intern will assist NextEra Energy attorneys in the office of the Corporate Secretary with legal research on corporate and securities law issues, research on compliance issues, analysis of shareholder proposals presented in proxy statements, researching various shareholder activism topics and the updating of a corporate governance database. This position is only open to law school students who have completed their first year. The position will not be open to second and third year students.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of routine legal assignments and projects
- Conducts legal research and studies proposed and existing litigation
- Assists attorneys in preparing and conducting litigation and legal transactions
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate
- Master's Degree
