Esri Canada has an exceptional professional opportunity for a Senior Consultant focused on strategy and planning engagements with our enterprise customers. The role is based out of Calgary, AB or Toronto, ON.

As part of Esri Canada's growing Management Consulting practice, you will work at the intersection of business and technology and help our customers leverage location-based technology to transform their business. Using your considerable knowledge and experience delivering strategy and planning engagements, you will help to advance Esri Canada's position as the leader in strategic planning for GIS.

Enterprise Support Consultant duties include:

  • Lead or support strategy and planning engagements with enterprise GIS customers
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to executive audiences summarizing the findings and recommendations of strategy and planning engagements
  • Actively participate in the preparation of proposals (e.g. RFPs, RFIs and RFQs)
  • Research and develop new frameworks, best-practices and methodologies associated with the domain of GIS strategy
  • Develop industry presentations and author publications that establish the consultant and Esri Canada as thought leaders in the GIS industry
  • Actively engage the account teams to advance the value proposition of Management Consulting with current and prospective customers.
Requirements

Specific skills requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Consultant with a focus on strategy and planning in a technology area
  • 5+ years of experience with location based technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to complete strategic business studies and to develop and present recommendations and reports
  • Experience in facilitating discussions and leading workshops
  • Experience in building and managing client relationships
  • Ability to communicate with executive levels of the organization
  • Ability to negotiate and build consensus
  • Familiarity with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling
  • Experience with web-based applications
  • Demonstrated awareness of emerging IT trends and directions
  • Post-secondary education in the field of business administration, computer science or engineering. MBA or equivalent experience

  • Synthesis and analysis skills; ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Excellent written/ communication / presentation skills
  • Team player with a track record for meeting deadlines

Considered as assets for this position are the following:

  • Professional designation associated with Management Consulting (e.g. CMC) or IT (ITIL, COBIT)
  • Experience in any of the following key subject areas: IT and Information Governance, IT Service Management, Enterprise Architecture, Technology Portfolio Optimization, IT Operations, IT Transformation
  • Bilingual fluency (English and French)
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and occasionally internationally
