LUMA hosted the LUMA Poster Roadshow 2025, an event dedicated to showcasing the achievements of students participating in the LUMA internship program. The event was held at the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and brought together over 20 students, professors, mentors, LUMA executives, and other members of the university community.
Through LUMA's internship program, students gain hands-on experience while addressing challenges in the electrical service industry. They also acquire technical skills through real-world projects and develop key competencies such as teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication.
Juan Rodríguez Rivera, Interim Executive Head of Engineering and Capital Program at LUMA, emphasized the company's commitment to youth. "Since 2023, LUMA has hired over 200 interns from local universities to promote technical and engineering careers across the island. These initiatives help empower the next generation of professionals to build a better energy future for Puerto Rico," said Rodríguez Rivera.
This program prepares students for their professional careers and equips them to become agents of change in their communities. Some of the projects presented by students included "Addressing Light Pollution in Public Lighting to Protect Wildlife and the Environment," "Project Management in Electrical Infrastructure," and "Data Optimization and Modernization," among others.
