POSITION PURPOSE:
Support components of the Finance Technology systems portfolio through day-to-day system management, maintenance activities, and data administration. Assist with technology adoption efforts and help ensure Finance records and data processes operate effectively. Partner with IT and other stakeholders to help ensure systems are available, functioning properly, and updated as needed. Contribute to verifying technical Finance requirements against functional specifications as part of quality assurance processes.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support the collection and documentation of business requirements during product development and assist with activities related to system acceptance.
- Review product roadmaps and provide input on the feasibility of new functionality. Assist with system upgrades by preparing communications and coordinating test activities with system specialists and users.
- Help maintain data integrity and consistency. Follow internal data retention, retrieval, and disposal policies. Monitor data requests and inputs; support data audits and help implement corrective actions. Assist with managing system access, security, and related audits.
- Participate in system testing and assist with maintaining interfaces, security roles, and configuration tasks.
- Collaborate with external vendors to help maintain data accuracy for various Finance processes.
- Support the management of interdependencies between internal and external systems, including data feeds connecting Finance and external vendors, and internal Finance and IT systems.
- Troubleshoot and help analyze system issues; contribute to identifying potential solutions.
- Develop working knowledge of Finance data and how internal and external customers use it. Assist with identifying new data needs and exploring solution alternatives.
- Incumbents in this class are not required to perform programming duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience.
Experience - 5+ years of related experience.
Certification/License, etc. Related IT certifications, financial certifications (i.e. CPA, CFMA) or project management (PMP) certifications preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Functional and technical process knowledge of the SAP ERP platform or related financial systems is preferred. Strong knowledge of MS Office products is required. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently on assigned projects is required. Knowledge of change management and identifying impacts are desired. Incumbent should have knowledge of configuration, system maintenance, and testing as well as conceptual skills. Ability to flex and adapt to changing data needs and ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality are required. Good understanding and working knowledge in Utilities business processes is preferred.
