Primary Purpose
This position leads Sempra Energy's Corporate Development and M&A efforts to support company growth. Provides financial, valuation, strategic, and commercial expertise for investment opportunities, leads cross-functional project teams, advises senior leadership, works independently, and provides guidance and development support to team members. Manages a corporate development function for a region or portfolio and is accountable for outcomes, talent, and stakeholder alignment. Leads governance, budget, and communication to ensure reliable delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads and supports corporate development, strategic planning, investment, and transaction activities that support organizational growth and business objectives.
- Performs and oversees financial analysis, valuation, modeling, forecasting, and other quantitative assessments to evaluate business opportunities, transactions, capital investments, and strategic initiatives.
- Evaluates complex financial transactions, financing structures, and business alternatives, develops recommendations, and communicates findings to support decision-making.
- Leads transaction and project execution activities, including planning, coordination, due diligence, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and implementation efforts.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external advisors to support the evaluation, development, and execution of strategic initiatives and business opportunities.
- Develops presentations, reports, analyses, and other materials to communicate recommendations and support discussions with senior leadership and governance bodies.
- Conducts market, industry, competitive, and business analyses to identify trends, assess opportunities, and support long-term strategic planning.
- Provides guidance, coaching, and development support to team members and promotes effective project execution, analytical rigor, and professional growth.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field is required.
- CFA, CPA, MBA, JD credentials, preferred.
Experience
- Requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in M&A, Investment Banking, and Strategy functions at leading investment banks or Fortune 500 companies. Energy industry background is required.
- Demonstrated track record of interacting and transacting successfully with top levels of management, with strong project management skills and experience is required.

Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.

- Skill in managing multiple analyses or transaction workstreams.
