HOW WILL YOU HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS?
The Leakage Survey Technician, under minimal supervision, is responsible for performing area leakage surveys, within multiple operating locations, for the detection, pin pointing, grading and classifying of gas leaks using a variety of electronic and manual testing equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited Institution.
- Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; a CDL may be required with certain positions/assignments.
- 1 year of natural gas operations experience.
- Must understand basic map reading and be able to operate a computer, communication devices, power tools and equipment appropriate to the position/assignment.
- Must be able to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide, decimals, fractions, basic algebra and geometry).
- Must possess sound judgment.
- Must have the ability to follow complex oral and written instructions, and clearly express ideas verbally and in writing.
- Must have a working knowledge of relevant pipeline regulations.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs necessary leakage surveys on mains, using mobile leakage survey vehicle.
- Performs walking leakage surveys as required on services and mains using various leakage survey methods and leakage detection equipment
- Performs leak investigations to determine precise location and classification of leaks. Completes appropriate paperwork/documentation.
- Creates and maintains leakage survey reports and related documentation.

WHERE AND HOW YOU WILL WORK
- Overtime work includes weekends and holidays.
- May require flexible hours including nights based on business needs within divisional guidelines.
- Must be able to travel to other divisions around the state including overnight stays to perform leak survey activities.
- Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to perform assignments in hazardous traffic environments, and use/wear appropriate safety equipment.
