RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct field surveys and inspections on a variety of energy and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and safety standards.
- Document project activities, including survey notes, engineering data, and "as-built" records; maintain daily construction logs.
- Support project teams by resolving field issues and coordinating with design engineers and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Best Management Practices (BMP).
- Investigate and address landowner concerns related to construction activities.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent and a two year vocational certificate in survey and civil engineering technology or equivalent.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- One or more years of related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position will report regularly in person to Duluth, MN.
- Preferred knowledge and skills include surveying techniques and equipment use, construction practices and techniques, mathematics (including trigonometry), land subdivision, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Civil 3D/AutoCAD, and survey CAD software such as Trimble Business Center.
- Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) certification as a Site Manager.
- This is a field-based role that requires flexibility, including travel and work outdoors in all seasons.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class D driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certificate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
