Reporting to the Project Lead, Grid Innovation at the GRE&T Centre, the Specialist, Grid Innovation supports the development and delivery of pilot projects that contribute to Alectra's grid modernization strategy. This role plays a key part in coordinating project activities, managing financial and operational components, and collaborating with internal and external partners to advance innovation initiatives.
What you'll do
Project Planning & Delivery
- Support the design, development, and execution of grid innovation pilot projects
- Contribute to project management activities including plans, schedules, timelines, and documentation
- Track action items, decisions, and deliverables to ensure projects stay on course
- Identify process improvements and workflow enhancements in collaboration with project teams and vendors
Financial & Performance Management
- Monitor monthly and quarterly project financials, including variance analysis and forecasting
- Prepare project reporting packages and support approvals for reimbursements
- Track vendor payments, accruals, and internal resource contributions to ensure accurate project costing
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Collaborate with Finance and Customer Service teams to manage customer incentive invoicing, payments, and reconciliations
- Partner with Legal to support contract development, negotiation, and vendor relationship management
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure delivery of contractual obligations
Customer & Program Engagement
- Work with Marketing to support customer acquisition and program awareness
- Provide subject matter expertise and training to internal teams and customers
- Conduct participant interviews, develop customer-facing materials, and track enrollment
- Coordinate and respond to customer feedback
Team Collaboration & Operational Support
- Support recruitment activities, cross-training, and knowledge sharing within the project team
- Foster collaboration and contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment
- Provide administrative and project support across GRE&T Centre initiatives as needed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Who you are
Education & Technical Knowledge
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, science, sustainability, policy, business administration), or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of the energy and utility sector, including system operations and market fundamentals
- Understanding of electricity markets (capacity, energy, ancillary services) is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel (data analysis and modelling)
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project)
Experience
- 3-5 years of related experience in project coordination, analysis, or innovation-focused roles
- Experience in the utility or energy sector
- Exposure to EV-related projects is an asset
- Experience working with vendors, including contract coordination or management, is an asset
