Description

Role Snapshot

Do you want to own a system and not just advise on it? We're looking for a senior-level PowerPlan expert who wants to be a long-term steward of our fixed asset systems, partnering closely with accounting, finance, operations, and IT to keep the engine running smoothly. This is a full-time, in-house role, not a consulting position.

As a Senior PowerPlan Systems Analyst, you'll serve as the functional owner of our on-prem PowerPlan application and related fixed asset systems. You'll help ensure system reliability, data integrity, and alignment with accounting and regulatory requirements across the full asset lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the senior functional owner for the PowerPlan on-prem application, including configuration, maintenance, data quality, and security coordination
  • Partner closely with Fixed Asset Accounting, Capital Projects, Operations, Planning, Treasury, and Shared Services IT to support project and work order setup, capitalization, CWIP tracking, asset additions and retirements, depreciation, ARO processing, and loan tagging
  • Design, maintain, and document approval workflows that support internal controls and audit requirements
  • Lead business requirements gathering and translate accounting and operational needs into system solutions
  • Coordinate and execute system testing efforts, including UAT, enhancement testing, integration testing, and disaster recovery testing
  • Support PowerPlan integrations and interfaces, including Maximo, internally developed data transfers, budgeting systems (e.g., Jedox), Lawson S3 / Infor CloudSuite FSM, Business Objects, and other reporting or downstream systems
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including depreciation updates, interest rate updates, interface validation, and issue resolution
  • Own functional support of the PowerPlan Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) module, ensuring accurate configuration, testing, and compliance
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, process flows, and training materials; provide ongoing guidance and training to end users
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and proactively recommend improvements
  • Stay current on PowerPlan capabilities, accounting standards, and industry trends; suggest enhancements to improve efficiency, controls, and reporting

What You Bring

We're seeking someone who enjoys deep system ownership, values strong cross-functional relationships, and wants to build long-term expertise and impact. Not short-term engagements.

You'll be successful in this role if you:

  • Have a strong understanding of fixed asset accounting concepts and how they translate into system design
  • Are comfortable acting as the bridge between accounting, finance, operations, and IT
  • Take pride in system stability, clean data, and well-documented processes
  • Can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and see initiatives through to completion

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise financial or asset management systems
  • Hands-on experience in fixed asset or project-based system environments
  • Strong preference for experience with PowerPlan (on-prem), Maximo, Lawson S3, Infor CloudSuite FSM, and/or Business Objects
  • Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience will be considered

Skills & Knowledge

  • Solid knowledge of fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, CWIP, ARO, and loan structures
  • Experience designing or supporting approval workflows and internal control frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to translate business and accounting requirements into practical system solutions
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across accounting, treasury, planning, operations, and IT teams
  • Comfortable working as a full-time internal partner rather than an external consultant
