Description

Become a Business Operations Advisor, Grid Management System (GMS) at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll support strategic business operations for the Grid Management System (GMS), including deployment, readiness, and adoption across Transmission & Distribution and partner organizations. This role focuses on translating program goals into actionable business processes, readiness plans, and adoption strategies as GMS expands across Outage Management System (OMS), Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS), and Mobile Grid Operations. You'll partner with operations, IT, training, and program leadership to assess operational impacts, align stakeholders, enable Super-Users, and coordinate testing, access, and training, tracking completion to ensure workforce readiness. This position ensures continuity, accountability, and informed decision-making to minimize operational risk and promote safe, consistent system adoption during grid modernization. Responsibilities

  • Improves the delivery of analytical support to an Operating Unit and/or the enterprise, enhancing the collection, analysis and reporting of data, which enables successful completion of key business operations projects.
  • Provides advice to stakeholders, presenting analytical findings and making recommendations as to their impact on business operations.
  • Identifies and improves operational processes and procedures, from maintenance to development of reporting dashboards, to streamline business practice and improve efficiency.
  • Collects and analyzes data in order to present findings and make recommendations.
  • Develops models to help inform decision-making on emerging technology investments.
  • Improves the development of business plan scenarios to evaluate different priorities and potential options to achieving the operating unit and/or enterprise objectives.
  • Verifies that established processes are aligned with relevant rules, principles, laws, and industry standards with the goal to safeguard assets, minimize errors, and ensure operational activities are performed to mitigate risk.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in business operations analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives across Operations, IT, Training, and Program teams to ensure alignment, accountability, and execution of operational readiness activities. 
  • Experience supporting operational readiness activities through stakeholder engagement, Super User enablement, testing coordination, system access preparedness, cutover assistance, and post-deployment stabilization.
  • Experience identifying operational risks and implementing mitigation strategies across system implementations or process changes.
  • Strong communication and influence skills
  • Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades, or enterprise transformations such as OMS, ADMS, DERMS, or similar platforms. 
  • Experience with Transmission and Distribution (T&D).
