Description
The Warehouse Technician position requires specialized skills or is multiskilled, which is developed through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.

DUTIES: (Essential Job Responsibilities)

Work safely
Performs duties in several areas including - Inventory Management, Receiving, Issuing and Restocking, Shipping, Purchasing, Tool and Equipment Management, Database Support
Performs cycle counts and warehouse inventory verification and performs/coordinates ad-hoc and recurring scheduled counts of stock; runs queries to prevent overstocking (demand planning reports, open PRs, POs, inactive FWOs with open inventory); prepares reports for management.
Provides end-user input to co-workers in identifying processes and methods for improving inventory management and control.
Serves as main point of contact for their specific plant's warehouse and has the detailed knowledge of their plant's procedures and inventory.
Maintains and organizes materials, tools and equipment for multiple business units; catalogs inventory; sets replenishment parameters; monitors stock levels and replenishes as required; assures materials are stocked and available for plant reliability requirements; tracks location; inspects and reorders missing or damaged tools.
Unloads, uncrates, inspects and assembles materials, tools, equipment and all purchased goods received; returns damaged or incorrect items to suppliers; enters received items into Inventory Management System; assigns receipt labels to and safely stores PSES project materials assigned and shipped to site.
Coordinates with multiple departments to resolve invoicing issues.
Orders, receives, reviews and inspects parts and materials; creates new inventory items and new item requests, stages, and issues material in response to material service requests; kits all maintenance parts for direct issue; issues tools as requested, returns unused materials to stock.
Schedules shipment pickup with shipping or motor freight companies or suppliers. Receives daily shipments, as well as documentation and validation.
Packages and initiates shipping of gas pipeline samples and maintains training/certification requirements to complete this work.
Palletizing/crating materials, tools and equipment; and loads trucks and creates bills of lading.
Reviews requisitions for accuracy; responds to questions about the status of purchase orders and materials.
Oversees purchasing of consumable items; researches and analyzes costs of consumable product options; makes purchases as authorized.
Purchases, stores and coordinates calibration and testing on specialty tools and equipment.
Enters data to include specifications and associated spare parts to assets into maintenance/asset management system and conducts routine database maintenance activities as directed.
Pick up and/or drop of material at supplier locations.
Operate vehicles, such as forklifts, pickups and overhead cranes.
Keep inventory properly labeled and organized in Warehouse
Use hand tools in the assembly and disassembly of materials.
Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of the requirements for certification for materials ordered and received for the Welding Quality Control Program, if required by Plant.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required)

Maintain a valid driver license and medical card is required. Medical card can be obtained within probationary period.
Maintain or acquire PGE forklift and overhead crane certification within probationary period.
Maintain or acquire 49 CFR 172 certification within probationary period.
Two (2) years warehouse/storeroom experience, preferred
Intermediate knowledge of equipment, procedures and practices.
Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of PGE inventory management practices within probationary period.
Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of PGE safety policies and procedures to support all levels of plant safety within probationary period.
Working communication skills, reading, writing and math skills to be able to check bills of lading, receive invoices and purchase orders, check product inventory and prepare all paperwork.
Possess or attain intermediate skills in operating vehicles such as forklifts, pallet jacks, small trucks and pickups within probationary period.
Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.), maintenance/asset management systems, inventory systems and other software tools.
Working ability to use analytical skills to set and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Ability to perform minor tool repair.
Possess or acquire CDL license, if required by Plant.
Knowledge of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements and ability to manage verification for materials and product received on site.
Ability to learn and apply proper accounting numbers for materials ordered to ensure costs are allocated appropriately (capital, O&M, outage work, etc.)
Knowledge of power plant mechanical and electrical tools and consumables, preferred.
Knowledge of power plant tool maintenance and repair, preferred.
