Job Description Summary
-
The intermediate Project Manager will work in the regional office reporting to the Regional Construction Manager. Travel and time at project sites are normal for this role.
-
The successful candidate will manage mechanical construction type projects in an industrial environment (Oil and Gas, Pulp and Paper, Mining, Power Generation and Environmental Controls Technology).
Specific Duties
-
Work within a unionized construction environment managing projects valued in the range of $50,000-$5M
-
Interface with customers developing business opportunities to sustain or grow the construction business

Works with other project managers, safety and quality representatives, unionized superintendents and unionized craft (tradespeople) to execute construction work in industrial environments

Estimate, schedule, plan construction work packages and proposals in conjunction with the Regional Managers and Superintendents.

Complete project costing, pricing and submittal of proposal to customers and B&W sales personnel

Supports and enforces all company safety policies and procedures

Communicates project status to financial and schedule support team and senior management (when required)

Works with Project Management Office to implement consistent project management processes, procedures, tools and methods

Drives project risk management and mitigation through strict governance processes and procedures

Perform regular project assessments & audits of projects

Evaluates aspects of project operational costs and works towards reducing costs and expenses where possible without sacrificing safety or quality

Provides on-site project management upon award of contract

Is the on-site Company representative with regards to craft issues and adherence to associated collective agreements

Through personal example and leadership, maintains company reputation for outstanding client service and project quality
Education and/or Relevant Experience
-
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field, or a minimum of 5 years of experience as an on-site Project Manager

Demonstrable knowledge of commercial construction trades and proven experience in both project management and estimating disciplines

Experience in managing large projects involving engineering, procurement, and construction

Familiarity with scheduling tools such as MS Project
-
Familiarity with Microsoft office applications
Qualifications
Candidate Requirements
-
Bilingual in French and English - speak, read, and write
-
Familiarity with Industrial equipment, piping, tanks, pressure vessels, boilers and steam generating equipment

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
-
Must be able to work according to our customers schedules which may include weekends / after hours.

Must be able to wear proper PPE for the job
