Job Summary

Location: Detroit, MI 

This role is designed to provide undergraduate college students with unique opportunities to develop their individual talents and to experience a large corporate environment. This particular role will be supporting our Carbon Capture & Sequestration - Subsurface Group.  This is a hybrid role with 90% of work done remotely, 5% of work at DTE HQ in Detroit, and 5% visiting project sites.

This role will be responsible for supporting our CCS active projects and designing and completing a research project. Active project support includes technical support for subsurface geological characterization, Class VI permitting, seismic acquisition, well drilling, and business development. This role will also plan and execute a research project that addresses a technical problem within the CCS business unit.

 

Key Accountabilities

Students in this role will: 

  • Gain a deep understanding of DTE's operations, business model and key initiatives. 
  • Produce clear, useful, and value-added work product to support business unit with various assignments and projects. 
  • Gain real hands-on professional work experience  
  • Acquire a new network of professional contacts 
  • Gain a new/enhanced set of soft business skills 
  • Have a successful summer experience and desire to come back and work for DTE 
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned 

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

Must be currently enrolled at an accredited 4-year university or college pursuing a degree in Geosciences or Subsurface Engineering. Graduate level students in Geoscience or Subsurface Engineering preferred.
