Overview
This position is responsible for all aspects of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) planning for high exposure maintenance projects, for the planning of Radiation Protection support activities, and for providing the Radiation Protection staff with sufficient details to ensure the safe implementation of both on-line and outage Radiation Work Permits (RWPs) and ALARA plans at the Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station.

Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Assist the Radiation Protection Supervisors in the direction of day- to- day activities of the Radiation Protection personnel including data analysis and coordination with other station work groups
- Develop, maintain and implement Radiation Protection Department procedures and processes
- Primarily coordinate the implementation of the Station's ALARA Program; and supplement Radioactive Waste Management; Radioactive Material Control; Dosimetry; and Respiratory Protection Programs
- Monitor the effectiveness of the above programs and produce various trend reports
- Represent Radiation Protection through Work/Outage Management planning committees assisting in the development and execution of radiological support activities
- Act as Contract Coordinator for various Radiation Protection Contracts as required
- Assist in the development and oversight of Radiation Protection training for Technicians and Radiation Workers as required
- Support Refueling/Forced Outage and Duty Team positions on alternate/backshift schedules as required
- Qualify and support Emergency Plan positions on rotation as required to maintain Health and Safety of the public residing within the required response times for the assigned position.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Health Physics or Radiation Protection + 4 years related experience -or-
- Bachelor's degree + 4 years related work experience -or-
- Associates degree in engineering technology, chemistry, radiation protection or related field + 5 years related work experience -or-
- Navy Nuclear ELT -or-
- 5 years related work experience
