About The Position
The Gas Meter Painter is a temporary, summer position responsible for cleaning and painting gas meter sets for corrosion mitigation.
Pay 17.50 per hour
* Must pass drug test
Key responsibilities include:
- Works under the direction of Gas Supervisor, to clean and paint residential meters, regulator stations, and industrial meter locations in assigned area to meet code requirements for corrosion mitigation.
- Paints assigned gas meter sets and up to 3' of customer fuel line.
- Expected to paint a minimum of three to four meters per hour and 1,000 meters over the course of the assignment. Must meet or exceed daily quota while performing quality work.
- Understand and follow all gas safety rules and DOT safety requirements.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent, required.
- Candidates enrolled in a technical school majoring in Electrical, HVAC, A.C. Electricity, Trade Construction, Welding, Highway Construction, Industrial Pipefitting, Machining, or Maintenance Mechanic is preferred.
- Must successfully complete Meter Painting training and testing.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Must have reliable transportation.
Additional Information
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
- Must successfully complete drug screening and a background check.
- Required to work summer schedule Monday through Friday (typically 40 hours per week).
