Conducts analysis through research, gathering and interpretation of data, development of alternatives and recommendations. Presents analysis and recommendations to management and may implement selected alternative. Analyses include, but are not limited to, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, trending/forecasting, financial analysis, budget analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the preparation of the budget books.
- Update budget books between the time of the initial presentation and the final authorization.
- Interpret spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, model, and present information to make recommendations to management.
- Prepare ad hoc reports as requested from Plant Management.
- Monitor and manage the capital budget.
- Collaborate with the Director of Accounting with the preparation of the monthly O&M forecast and variances.
- Administer plant accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in the annual preparation of the Plant Budget.
- Prepare monthly overtime reports.
- Prepare journal entries and monthly accruals.
- Undertake various projects and audits
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting Finance or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of three years experience in accounting and financial analysis.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Data gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, forecasting, and modeling skills.
- Knowledge of applicable Company policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
- Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and model information.
- Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature.
- Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team. Ability to present alternatives and recommendations.
Preferences
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Experience with database applications.
