The Project Development Manager applies extensive and diverse knowledge of management principles and practices across broad areas of responsibility and related fields. This role involves independently making decisions on large, complex commercial issues and methodologies, and representing the business in negotiations and the resolution of critical strategic matters. The position requires the use of advanced techniques and the adaptation or extension of theories and practices within the relevant disciplines. The manager interprets, organizes, and executes highly advanced strategic assignments that pose significant risk to the business. They are responsible for managing multiple high-complexity projects or programs simultaneously, typically involving strategic acquisitions with a total projected investment ranging from $50 million to $500 million.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead business case development and conduct thorough due diligence to support strategic initiatives.
- Oversee contract development and manage negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive project development activities from concept through execution.
- Engage with senior leadership through presentations, strategic communications, and regular updates.
- Provide mentorship to team members and foster cross-functional collaboration across departments.
- Manage third-party interactions, including vendors, consultants, and internal partners.
- Contribute to strategic planning and ensure effective implementation of business objectives.
- Support the development, monitoring, and implementation of processes and governance frameworks.
- Administer and uphold corporate standard work practices and protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or as necessary to meet evolving business needs.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, or engineering with a minimum of two (2) years of experience with project development, major asset acquisition, contract development and negotiation, senior leadership engagement acumen, business administration, cross functional team leadership, strategic business planning/development/implementation and resource/peer mentoring.
- (OR) Associate's degree in business, or engineering with a minimum of four (4) years of experience with project development, major asset acquisition, contract development and negotiation, senior leadership engagement acumen, business administration, cross functional team leadership, strategic business planning/development/implementation and resource/peer mentoring.
- (OR) High school diploma with a minimum of six (6) years of experience with project development, major asset acquisition, contract development and negotiation, senior leadership engagement acumen, business administration, cross functional team leadership, strategic business planning/development/implementation and resource/peer mentoring.
