Position Summary/Details:
Engineering Students will report to Energy Supply engineers and support a variety of technical projects ranging in complexity, scope, and time spans.
Accountabilities: As a successful candidate for our Co-Op/Alternate - Energy Supply Engineering position, you would:
- Work Safe as a top priority.
- Assist the station engineers with drawing updates and equipment labeling.
- Support station engineers with site inspections and reports.
- Support the station engineers with project development and implementation.
- Attend and be engaged with daily operational plant meetings.
- Maintain and/or create electronic databases for station support.
- Assist station engineer with equipment assessments and troubleshooting.
Physical Location of Co-op: Big Bend Power Station 13031 Wyandotte Road, Gibsonton FL 33534
Preferred Availability: Full-time (40 hours) or Part - Time (30 - 40 hours)
Working Conditions: Combination of Power Station / Service Areas / Office Environments, hands-on. Willing and able to work at heights on raised walkways, etc. and work in industrial environments which can be dirty.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
The successful applicant should be enrolled in an ABET accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.
Co-Op Requirements:
- To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the university's co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
