Summary
The essential job functions of the New Construction Manager require the employee to serve as the primary contact for residential, commercial, and industrial developers to determine new or expanded service needs. The Manager must have knowledge of all company policies, a general knowledge of accepted distribution system standards, and a complete understanding of distribution infrastructure layout serving new customers.
In this role you will be required to report on-site 3 plus days a week and you will have the option to either report out of our Downtown Dallas or Downtown Fort Worth Office.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with multiple builders, developers, and city personnel to proactively meet customer needs
- Actively participate in builder and developer organizations, councils, conferences, or initiatives
- Proactively communicate customer or project concerns to management in an organized manner
- Require experience with managing multiple projects concurrently
- Coordinate and maintain the Work Authorization Supplement process
- Actively participate in personal developmental planning and training to expand knowledge and opportunities
- Understand the application of and effectively communicate the Company's line extension policy related to expansion of company facilities for assigned projects
- Assist project manager to ensure reliable, economical, safe, and timely extension of electric distribution services while meeting customer requirements and expectations
- Resolve any company or customer issues concerning the extension of facilities
- Coordinate with project manager to interface with all necessary departments (Central Design Group, Metro Design Groups, Electric Distribution, Right of Way) to ensure that the infrastructure is installed in a timely manner
- Perform all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other job specific requirements
Skills
- Demonstrated experience with residential, commercial and industrial developers or investors
- Demonstrated effective communication and written skills
- Proven negotiating skills and techniques needed to acquire new customers
- Ability to successfully resolve developer or investor concerns
- Working knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications
- Proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point
- Ability to identify areas for and application of process improvement methods
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma. GED, or equivalent is required
- Bachelor's or Associate Degree in a technical related curriculum is encouraged to apply
- 3-5 plus years of direct or related experience in customer relations, project management, engineering, operations, design, or construction is required
