Description

Become a Senior Engineer 1 at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll be the strategic and technical leader responsible for the oversight, design, alignment, and execution of all Remedial Action Scheme (RAS) and Centralized Remedial Action Scheme (CRAS) projects within the SCE grid system. This role ensures seamless integration with SCE's broader transmission, protection, operational, and reliability objectives. The Senior Engineer provides governance, technical expertise, cross-functional alignment, and forward-looking innovation to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of all CRAS initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups
  • Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Collaborate and lead with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies
  • Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations
  • Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases
  • Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings
  • Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems
  • Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
  • Seven or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing digitization and emerging technology tools to drive improvements in engineering processes.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to present to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for collaborating with both internal and external teams to solve complex business challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience with Power System Protection and/or Remedial Action Schemes.
  • Strong proficiency with process management software and data visualization tools.
  • Project Management certification.
  • Experience working at an electric utility company.
