The Damage Prevention Representative (DPR) plays a critical role in protecting underground utility infrastructure by promoting safe excavation practices, ensuring compliance with state laws, and reducing utility damages. The DPR serves as a liaison between PNM, contractors, excavators, and the New Mexico 811 system.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- experience in utility locating, construction, or damage prevention.
- Knowledge of New Mexico 811 processes and state excavation laws.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver¿s license and clean driving record.
Skills & Competencies:
Ability to locate and mark underground facilities accurately.
Knowledge of safe work practices and commitment to safety goals.
Basic record-keeping and reporting skills.
Familiarity with traffic control devices and proper placement.
Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance.
Additional Attributes:
Willingness to assist with damage investigations and special projects.
Capable of training others in damage prevention activities.
Flexible to perform other duties after proper training (meter reading, collections, warehouse tasks, etc.).
