Position Summary
As an Accounting Specialist at Oncor, you'll act as a liaison with Accounting and Regulatory. As such, this role requires the ability to interpret and communicate the requirements and constraints for both groups. This role is responsible for research, analysis, and data collection of accounting and financial issues affecting Oncor's regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support monthly financial close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze information used for inclusion in regulatory compliance filings and rate setting proceedings.
- Prepare various analyses for management as requested.
- Monitor Oncor's filings with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and effectively communicate relevant findings.
- Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) control compliance.
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Key accounting controls.
- Support Company Accounting Policies and Procedures.
Skills:
- Working knowledge of financial applications.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and sound decision-making capabilities.
- Advanced knowledge and experience utilizing techniques for business process analysis.
- Flexibility/ability to work in a changing environment.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize own work.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of progressive work-related experience is required.
- Applicants with Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certifications encouraged to apply.
- Applicants with understanding of the electric utility business encouraged to apply.

- Thorough understanding of business systems, accounting, business processes and process flows.

- Timely and accurate internal and external reporting.
- Timely and accurate recording, analyzing, and reporting of balance sheet and income statement transactions.
